Portrait of Adam Frank with guitar

ABOUT THE COMPOSER

Adam Frank

Music and art have always been inextricably linked to Frank’s childhood. He and his brother, Colin, would draw original comic characters and imitate their favorite artists. As an adolescent, Frank became drawn to gothic tales, classic rock, and alternative music, and developed a burgeoning interest in writing poetry and drawing. In his collegiate years, he began writing and recording songs with his brother and playing in different bands. After returning to school to study classical guitar and composition, Frank’s music synthesized elements of classical music with contemporary music styles. It is his contention that immersing oneself completely in the art form renders the greatest genuine experience. Instead of contriving with intention, Frank allows his imagination to emanate out of the initial grain of an idea or emotion. This organic approach, stylistically reminiscent of impressionism, allows him to write more freely as the creative exploration takes precedence above all other things. Frank’s poignant melodies and shadowy harmonies, drawn from the amalgamation of diverse styles, culminate in a compellingly mysterious soundscape.
